Johnny in Rome

I ALWAYS want UNH to be one the teams that we get to see at the Frozen Four. I understand why Zack made the comment he made about it possibly being better for certain fans (read rabid fans) to not have their favorite team at the FF. After he gets a few more years of being a Wildcat supporter he will understand the need to have them at the FF. Certain fans have been cheering for UNH hockey for more than 30 years. Some fans were even lucky enough to have seen UNH play in the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit in the National Semi-Finals. Twice. 1977. 1979. Back when these fans were in college there was no Frozen Four as it is known today. I still reme, er I mean certain fans remember, that semi-final game in '77. Game tied at 3. Overtime. Puck deep in Wildcat end. Face-off to the left of the 'Cat goalie, Dan Magnarelli. Ref drops puck. Puck never hits the ice as the Wisconsin center iceman hits it out of mid air over Mag's shoulder. Game over. 4-3. What a letdown.

Oh wait back to the comment. I must admit I will be more relaxed with the 'Cats not playing in St. Louis. Speaking of which I must admit to something I screwed up on for our FF experience this year. I didn't get us as close to the arena as I strive to be.
I realized yesterday that there is a Hyatt right there at the rink. I just don't know how I missed that. I promise to do better next year. Last year was really great being just about 1/2 block from the rink. Somehow I bet we will muddle our way through this.
What we want the most is 3 great hockey games. I must tell you that I will be cheering for the Hockey East teams. I find it very difficult to do. Hard to cheer for the teams you have been cheering against all year when UNH was involved. Not to mention, but oh I must, one of my favorite cheers from going to UNH games--"Let's go Blue, Screw B.U." Of course there will be an exception to my Hockey East statement. I just love those Fightin' Sioux!!!!

Photo Order

In my last photo post the images did not show up the way the preview had indicated they would. So it starts with Tom and Erica, then me, and so on.

Traditions

I have been looking over the different options you can
have when doing a blog. I have made a couple of
changes to my page already. As I get everyone's blog
address I will add it to my links as I noticed Cody
and Maggie did.

Hard to believe Spring has sprung. We got about 14 inches of
snow over the weekend. Leigh and I went XC skiing on
Sunday. We bought passes at a local touring place in
December. Leigh has been more times than me. I would
guess she has been between 40-50 times. I guess I
have been about 30. I have less than her because she
would ski on days that I had hockey. I usually
skipped skiing on hockey days. But now I have ended
all 3 of my hockey leagues.

I must admit that my main focus right now is going to
the Frozen Four with Gary, Zack and Cody. This year
the FF is in St Louis. I hope UNH is able to win 2
hockey games this weekend so they too will be in St.
Louis playing for the National Championship. We are
turning this gathering of Warner boys into a family
tradition. Gary and I have done it the past couple of
years. It was decided that Co and Zack needed to get
in on the fun. So we invited them along. Plus they
are both old enough to enjoy, legally, a nice brew pub
beer. I'm sure we will all have a story to tell and
pictures to post when we all get back from the FF.
For those who don't know we will be in St Louis from
Wed April 4 through Sunday April 8. The NCAA sent me
a letter last week telling me they would be sending
out tickets this week for the games. I suppose they
probable sent Gary the same letter.

Hope

I suppose I will start this the way many people dive into something new.....I don't know if this is going to work or not.
